About the Album
The band, Boston Hospitality, began in the 1980s, led by Ed Pearlman on fiddle and Beth Robinson (soon to become Murray) on piano, plus various guest musicians.  The band released an LP/cassette in 1987 featuring one side of music for Scottish country dancing, and one side of listening music.

On Sept 8, 2007, the Boston Hospitality album was released for the first time on CD, using the original digital master for a fresh sound.  This 20th anniversary rerelease was celebrated with a energetic and nostalgic dance and music party at Springstep, near Boston.

Guest musicians on the recording were Ruthie Dornfeld, fiddle; Barbara Russell, harp and bass; Gary McGrath, drums (pipe band style); and Doug Scott, hammered dulcimer.

The dances on the album were written by  Boston area teachers Marianne Taylor, Jeanetta McColl, Evelyn Murray, and Barbara Russell, plus Pinewoods Reel, written by John Drewry in honor of the summer dance camp south of Boston near Plymouth.
Bookings
Ed Pearlman and Beth Murray are happy to play for Scottish country dances, and dancers are happy to attend their dances.  Recent dances include the Boston Ball 2008 and Nashua New Years Dance 2009.  Sometimes they play as a duo, sometimes with others such as fiddler Anne Hooper.
